Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Parent Account (via Sign in with Apple):

• Apple-provided user identifier (anonymized by Apple)
• Email address (only if you choose to share; Apple offers a relay email option)
• Display name (optional)

Child Profile (created by parent):

• First name or nickname (chosen by parent)
• Grade level
• Avatar selection

Learning Data (stored on-device only):

• Practice session results (questions answered, correctness, time spent)
• Mastery levels per concept
• Engagement patterns (subjects practiced, session duration)
• Achievement progress

2. How Data Is Stored

All learning data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not upload, sync, or store child data on external servers. Data stays on your iPhone or iPad and is removed when you uninstall the app.

3. AI Tutor (Premium Feature)

If you subscribe to Premium, your child can interact with an AI tutor. When using the AI tutor:

• Messages are sent to our secure API proxy (Cloudflare Workers) and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API
• Messages are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers
• Conversation history is stored locally on your device only
• We enforce message length limits and rate limiting to protect children
• The AI is instructed to provide educational guidance only and never share personal information

4. COPPA Compliance

• We require parental consent (acceptance of this policy) during onboarding before any data is created
• The parent area is protected by a PIN set by the parent
• We do not serve ads to children
• We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs
• We do not share child data with any third parties
• Parents can delete all child data by removing the child profile from Parent Settings, or by uninstalling the app

5. Third-Party Services

• Apple (Sign in with Apple): Used for parent authentication. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic (Claude API): Used for the AI tutor feature (Premium only). Messages are processed per Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We use their API in a way that does not retain conversation data.
• Apple StoreKit: Used for subscription management. Subject to Apple's terms.

6. Data Deletion

Parents can delete their child's data at any time:

• Delete a child profile: Parent Settings > Manage Children > tap the delete button. This permanently removes all learning progress, achievements, and session data for that child.
• Delete all data: Uninstall the app. Since all data is stored on-device, uninstalling removes everything.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" at the top will be updated. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
